- A distinguished graduate of DMC Ludhiana, I commenced my surgical journey in 1995, swiftly progressing from an enthusiastic laparoscopic surgeon to the esteemed Head of Surgery at Guru Nanak Mission Hospital, a leading healthcare institution in Jalandhar. My rise in the medical community attests to my steadfast dedication to surgical excellence and continuous growth.
- Honored by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) in the USA as a ‘Master Surgeon’, I have not only established a standard in laparoscopic surgery but also spearheaded my hospital’s transformation into the first OSSI-accredited Center of Excellence in Punjab in 2018. This recognition underscores our collective commitment to delivering superior patient care.

Navigating Bariatric Surgery: Insights from My Experience
In 2000, the inception of Jammu Hospital marked a pivotal moment in the pursuit of medical excellence. By 2007, it had transformed into a premier center for bariatric care, integrating weight-loss surgery into its comprehensive range of services. Today, it remains a dynamic hub for bariatric procedures, handling over 300 transformative cases annually, showcasing its steadfast dedication and proficiency in this specialized domain.
Within the confines of Jammu Hospital, more than 5100 individuals have experienced profound transformations through my surgical interventions. Each Roux-n-Y Gastric Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Mini Gastric Bypass, and intricate Revision surgery contributes to a legacy of successful outcomes and patient rejuvenation.
Transitioning from surgical prowess to influential leadership, I proudly serve as the Executive Council Member (North) of OSSI, actively shaping the discourse in the field as the chief convenor of OSSI’s Center of Excellence committee. Additionally, I hold the esteemed position of Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Bariatric Surgery by OSSI, starting from 2021.
As the visionary founder and director of the esteemed MGB/OAGB International Club, established in Austria in 2015, I’ve fostered a global dialogue on obesity management.
My expertise and insights have resonated globally, from delivering keynote addresses at numerous national and international conferences to spearheading MGB/OAGB courses in prominent cities such as Montreal, Vienna, London, Naples, Valladolid, and Cologne.
Among a select group of experts, I am honored to be recognized as one of the 50 architects of the International consensus on MGB/OAGB, underscoring my unwavering commitment to shaping the future of bariatric surgery.
